Our swimming pool area measures over 7,200 square feet and is roughly ½ the size of an Olympic swimming pool. The pool dimensions measure 75 feet long and 45 feet wide and has 6 swimming lanes. The pool depth ranges from 3.5 feet to 8.5 deep.

Absolutely! We ensure most of our pool time is dedicated to providing open swimming to our members, drop-ins, and guests. During open swim, you can choose to either swim in a leisure lane or circle swim in a lap swimming lane.

Each lane can hold a maximum of 7 swimmers.

Although we encourage everyone to bring a lock to secure their belongings during their stay with us, we do sell locks, goggles, and swim caps. These items can be purchased at our West Side front desk.

Yes! We sell both small hand towels ($5) and large bathing towels ($10) at our front desks. We do not, however, offer towel cleaning services. Any towels left behind at Sportspark will be placed in our lost & found bins and subject to our lost & found disposal policies.

Our newly installed basketball gym measures over 8,000 square feet and features premium hardwood flooring, with 2 primary hoops and four side hoops for additional play. All our hoops can be mechanically retracted via a remote control in just seconds.

In addition, the basketball gym has retractable bleachers that can seat up to 250 spectators!

The 8,000 square foot gym is an open space available for a multitude of uses, but is most commonly used for volleyball, indoor soccer, and basketball.

Our fitness center measures over 2,300 square feet and is split into two separate rooms, with one room exclusively designed as a weight room. The fitness center will have a designated stretch area, Star-Trac cardio equipment, hoist plate loaded strength machines, two power racks w/ Olympic platforms, and many free weights.

Our fitness center is available to all members and drop ins ages 15 and over.

Our recreational room is equipped with a premium flat screen television, lounge seating, an air hockey table, pool table, and regulation size ping pong tables. In addition, the recreational room has full size snack and soda machines.

Yes, but the user must provide their own lock, and locker contents must be removed at the end of each visit.

Yes! All of our members receive access to complementary WiFi.

Owned and operated by the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, Sportspark is a 44,300 square foot athletic complex with a regulation size basketball court, ½ sized Olympic swimming pool, fitness center complete with a weight room, recreational room with several tabletop games and lounge-style seating, and a group fitness studio.

The roads surrounding Sportspark consist of metered public parking, Sportspark does not own or operate any parking lot nearby.

If you prefer to park your vehicle in a parking lot, there is a 7-floor metered parking garage far north of Sportspark, located at 688 Main Street.

To enter, when driving towards Roosevelt Island on the Roosevelt Island Bridge, make the first right turn off the bridge. The entrance will land you on the 4th Floor of the garage.

Sportspark is accessible by the below methods:

Car: Driving over the Roosevelt Island Bridge and heading south on Main Street.
Bus: Take the Q102 to the Roosevelt Island Tram Stop and walk south. You may also take the free local Red Bus (available only on Roosevelt Island) south and get off at the Sportspark stop.
Train: Take the F-train to the Roosevelt Island Subway station and walk south.
Ferry: Take the NYC Ferry to the Roosevelt Island Ferry Landing and walk south.
Tram: Take the Roosevelt Island Tram, located at 63rd street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, and walk south.
Bike: Bike via Vernon Blvd over the Roosevelt Island Bridge and head south on Main Street.

Sportspark has two entrances, one on the East end and one on the West end. The East entrance is available only to existing members. The West entrance is available to everyone, and our information front desk is located at this entrance.

Members can scan into the facility by tapping either their issued key fobs, or through opening their member app, selecting "Bluetooth Check-In" and tapping your phone on the reader.

Yes, but only in designated areas:

Allowed: Pre-packaged food and drinks in the lobby, recreation room, pool bleacher seating
Not allowed: Swimming pool deck, basketball court, fitness center, fitness studio, fitness lounge

All youth ages 12 and under must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at Sportspark at all times.

Teens ages 13-17 are not required to be actively supervised by a parent/guardian. However, they will require a parent/guardian to be present during initial sign-up and teens must have their parent/guardian review, approval and provide a signature on the application.

You may pick up your key fob from the information front desk located at the West entrance immediately after you sign up for a membership.

Replacement key fobs can be purchased in person only and for $5.

Locks are of course optional but highly recommended. If you do not have your own lock, you may purchase one in person at Sportspark for $8.

Unless you are renting an overnight locker at Sportspark, all personal belongings must be emptied from the locker rooms by closing time on each day. Any clothing, gear, or personal effects left overnight in an unreserved locker will be stored in our lost and found for 1 week before being donated. All perishable or consumable items left overnight will be discarded immediately.

If you are interested in reserving a locker, please stop by the front desk to purchase as they can only be reserved in-person. Lockers are $30/month, billed on a recurring basis like our memberships, and are available in limited quantities. Cancellation is requested in the same way as our memberships, either via email or through the Gymmaster app.

Locker rentals are not available in the family rooms. If no lockers are available at the time of your inquiry, you can be placed on the waitlist until a locker becomes available.

Our lost and found will be located at the front desk located in the West lobby. As always, we will do our best ensure that each item is reclaimed by its rightful owner by asking preliminary questions to identify the items prior to its release. However, this will be a courtesy offered by our staff and Sportspark is not liable for any lost or stolen property.

All lost items found in Sportspark, with the exception of perishables and personal hygiene items like soaps and body washes, are tagged with the date they were found and placed in our lost & found bins. Items in the lost & found bins are discarded after 14 days have elapsed without being claimed.

All children ages 12 & under require parental supervision at all times, including during entry and exit from the facility.

We accept most forms of payment, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, cash, and checks.

As outlined in our member policy, we do not offer refunds or returns on any products or services purchased at Sportspark. All sales are final unless otherwise determined by management.

We do accept cash and checks to pay for new memberships, however, a credit card must be placed on file to obtain a new membership. All cash and check payments must be made in person at Sportspark no less than 3 business days prior to the 1st of the month. Checks can be made payable to, "RIOC".

If any check or credit card charge payable to RIOC is not honored, Management will assess a $25 charge for each check and credit card rejected and collects the current and past-due balance in any subsequent month.

The swimming pool can only be permitted for either 3 lanes or all 6 lanes.

Our court is multipurposed and is outfitted with play lines for two volleyball courts and an indoor soccer court. If you wish to play any other sports, please check with the Public Safety Department to make arrangements prior to submitting your permit request.

All permit holders are responsible for providing their own equipment, supplies, decorations, and food. The only supplies Sportspark will provide are limited to cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans, and garbage bins, etc.

There is metered street parking available on the Westside (Manhattan Side) of the building. Please check at Motorgate Parking Garage (688 Main St) for more additional parking, since metered street parking is limited.

Yes, depending on the nature of the event and the schedule. Please check with the permit department.

No. Food is not permitted on the gym floor. Sports drinks must have a cap on them at all times. We provide tables and chairs in the lobby area to accommodate visitors who want to eat or drink before entering the gym space.

You can join online through our member portal OR in person using the self-service kiosks located our front desk.

All of our memberships are month to month. Members will be billed on the 1st of every month unless the membership is cancelled or a freeze is requested.

Absolutely! Residents of Roosevelt Island enjoy a discount off their adult membership for a total price of $45/month. All membership pricing already includes tax. Please note that you must maintain a permanent residence on Roosevelt Island to qualify.

You can upload your documents by snapping a photo or screenshot of them and uploading them during the online sign-up process. Alternatively, you may also bring your physical documents with you to the front desk and our staff can help you out with the upload process. All documents must be clear and legible.

To qualify for a resident discount, you must submit proof of identity, age, AND Roosevelt Island residency:

Proof of identity: State license or photo ID with name matching the proof of residency.
Proof of residency: Lease, Rent Bill, or Utility Bill with a Roosevelt Island address and name matching the proof of identity. (Proof must be dated within 3 months of submission)

We offer reduced pricing of $30/month for seniors ages 65+ or the disabled, and $20/month for teens ages 13-17.

We do not offer a family plan; all memberships are for individual use. However, children ages 12 & under can be added to any adult account at no extra cost (limited to 3 kids) by visiting the front desk. Teen memberships (ages 13–17) are available for $20/month.

Yes, teenagers ages 13 - 17 years old can purchase a drop-in guest pass for $15 as long as they are checked in to the facility by their adult parent or guardian.

A maximum of four teenagers can be checked in by one parent or guardian.

We do allow drop-ins at a rate of $25.00 per day for adults 18 and over and $15 per day for children 17 and under.

Drop ins are given access to unlimited use of the swimming pool, basketball court, recreation room, and fitness center for the day. Drop ins should keep in mind that Sportspark does restrict access to several spaces to host member-only and paid programs, which are announced well in advance and are reflected in our programming schedules.

We encourage all drop ins to check our programming schedules before arriving and purchasing a drop in pass.

Drop ins will not have access to member-only and paid programs.

We do not offer complementary guest passes to our members. If you wish to bring a friend, a family member, or colleague to Sportspark they will be charged as a standard drop in user.

Members who signed up using a credit card, debit card, or banking information will have that information stored on file. All memberships renewals will be billed automatically on the 1st of every month to the billing information that was provided at the time of sign up.

Members who signed up in person with cash or a check payment will have to renew their membership in person no less than 3 business days prior to the 1st of the following month.

If any check or credit card charge payable to RIOC is not honored, Management will assess a $25 charge for each check and credit card rejected and collects the current and past-due balance in any subsequent month.

Memberships may only be cancelled online via our membership app, GymMaster. From your account home page, select "Memberships", then select "Cancel".

From Monday to Thursday, we offer a mix of evening pick-up sports programming from 6:00pm - 7:45pm located on the Basketball Court. The schedule is as follows*:

Monday Night: Pick-Up Basketball
Tuesday Night: Pick-Up Indoor Soccer
Wednesday Night: Pick Up Volleyball
Thursday Night: Pick Up Indoor Soccer

Pick-up games are open to all Sportspark members and guests with a valid daily drop in pass. All players must be aged 13 years or older to participate.

*Subject to change on a seasonal basis.

Our staff will set up the court for Tuesday night pick-up indoor soccer at approximately 5:50pm. This includes:

• Setting up a 6.5'' H x 12'' W foldable goal post on each side of the court.
• Providing 4 futsal soccer balls for warm-up and game play.
• Raising the basketball hoops.
• Setting the court scoreboard to 99 minutes at 6:05pm to allow players to track the time remaining.

Our staff will set up the court for Wednesday night pick-up Volleyball at approximately 5:50pm. This includes:

• Setting up a complete volleyball system (volleyball posts are installed firmly into the court)*.
• Providing 4 volleyballs for warm-up and game play.
• Setting the court scoreboard to 99 minutes at 6:05pm to allow players to track the time remaining.

*Volleyball net height is adjustable but is set at a height of 7 feet, 11 5/8 inches

All pick-up games at Sportspark are played for fun and the competition level generally ranges from beginner to intermediate. Even those who are new to the sport can be found participating and having a great time! There are no skill requirements necessary to be able to join in on a game.

The entrances to our fitness studio can be found in the center of Sportspark, near the lounge. There you will find an elevator and two independent staircases that lead up to the 2nd floor, where the fitness studio is located. Keep an eye out for our wayfinding signs around Sportspark to help navigate the facility.

Absolutely! All of our entrances, interior spaces, and amenities are ADA accessible.

The swimming pool is outfitted with an ADA chair lift to carefully lower individuals into the water, the fitness center is outfitted with a secured elevator to lower individuals onto the fitness center floor, and Sportspark has an elevator that provides access to our 2nd floor.

You may access our pool through the East entrance (Queens side). However, keep in mind that this entrance is open only to existing members.

Individuals signing up for new memberships or purchasing day passes must enter through the West entrance (Manhattan side).

We strive to maintain a water temperature that satisfies all of our users, including infants, children, seniors, and avid or competitive swimmers.

The pool water temperature will range between 78 – 83 degrees.

Please bring your own towel, goggles, swim cap, water shoes or sandals, and a lock when storing your valuables in our locker rooms.

In addition, we sell goggles, swim caps, and locks at our west lobby information desk.

Our drop-in rates are as follows:

Adults ages 18 & over: $25/day
Youth ages 17 & under: $15/day

We classify seniors as being aged 65 and older with a valid ID.
